The Barbet is a very affectionate and docile sweet dog. The coat forms a beard on the chin, which gave the name to the race.

Fur: The Barbet has a thick woolly fleece. The most commonly encountered colors are black, gray, brown, tan, sand, white, or more or less pied.

Durability: 10 to 13 years
